REMINISCENCE OF INDIA
June 7 - 29
India is a land of diversity. The history of India is more than 4000 years old. The earliest civilization of India was developed in the valley of the Indus River in Asia. It was recognized as a highly sophisticated and urbanized civilization, functioned as a self-contained political and cultural base, which gave rise to a unique tradition. The people of India lived a productive intellectual life centered on mathematics, astronomy, architecture, literature, music, and fine arts. The wealth and prosperity of India attracted several warmonger countries. The frequent attacks of the invaders severely affected the social stability and economy of India.
The "Reminiscence of India," a collection of more than 25 watercolor paintings by Bulbul Majumder, reflects the serenity of nature, the brilliance of flora and fauna, the rational beauty of the architecture and, the cultural robustness of the people of India. The artwork finds a display at Imagine Butte Resource Center - Foreground Gallery. |
About the artist
Bulbul Majumder is an electronic and computer science engineer with a zeal for flowing colors along the water and shaping a dramatic diorama on paper. She is an avid watercolorist and loves to experiment with lights, shadows, and detailed creases of natural objects. Bulbul applies an ambiance of colors to enhance the charismatic beauty of Mother Nature.
A native of India, she started developing her artistic talent in pre-school using paper, pencil, and color. She attended art school through 12th grade learning watercolor, oil painting, and charcoal sketching. Her artistic talents took a back seat to college and getting married. She moved to the United States with her husband, Brahma in 2007. She now raises three boys and works full time at MBMG as a software engineer. A recent visit to India in 2018, opened her heart back up to art, and she realized how much she missed its creative expression. Inspired by her colleagues and family members, she organized her busy schedule to accommodate her artistic soul. Bulbul started to paint the dioramic glamour of India and presents her first solo exhibit – Reminiscence of India, on display at the Imagine Butte Resource Center - Foreground Gallery. |
